For as long as I can remember I have always loved snails. When I was very little I used to keep garden snails in a plastic tub. Each of the snails had a name and a very individual personality and they were all very dear to me. Then one day I was visiting a friend and saw her Giant African Land Snails. I loved them of course and showed great enthusiasm for getting to know them. The next Christmas the friend gave me two of her Giant African Land Snail's babies! I was delighted and just over a year later, Candy and Lollipop (as they were later named) had babies of their own. Most of these I dumped on my friends but four of them I kept in my bedroom, and now they too have had babies! Much to the surprise and disappointment of my friends and family, however, my new-found pets did not replace the garden snails, now with their own tank on the kitchen side.
